Who is this guy?

Richard Philben

I first became interested in photography when I was playing with my grandfather's Polaroid as a child. The gadgets, the noises, the near instant gratification of the photos being developed in 30 seconds. It was great! I really became hooked though when I visited Ireland. I knew with so much beauty to see there that I should bring plenty of film. I realized once I got over there, that the 62 rolls I brought with me would not be enough. I also realized; ......I needed to go digital!

Most of the photographs on my website were taken here in Massachusetts.  I am originally from the town of Natick in eastern Massachusetts. A great location for taking day trips to visit Central Massachusetts in the west to Boston in the east and Cape Anne in the north to Cape Cod in the south. Then in 2019 I had the good fortune of moving to the town of Shelburne, Massachusetts. That has opened up everything for me from the Quabbin Reservoir to the Berkshires and from the Connecticutt to the Vermont borders. I've been able to hike, bike and kayak so many beautiful spots and to see so many amazing creatures throughout this beautiful state. I think my photographs will reflect that. I hope you enjoy them.
